Working Principle of Membrane Switch
Membrane switch is a type of switch commonly used in electronic devices. It consists of a very thin elastic film, usually made of materials such as polyester or polyamide. Membrane switches are usually used in devices such as touch screens, keyboards, remote controls, etc., so that users can complete the switch operation by touching the film lightly. The working principle of membrane switch is based on the elastic deformation of the film. Metal contacts are arranged on the film. When the user touches or applies pressure on the film, the film will deform slightly, causing the contacts of the metal contacts to make a connection or disconnection action.
The working principle of membrane switch can be divided into the following steps:
1. Contact: When the user touches the membrane switch, the finger pressure will be applied to the film, causing the film to sag inward, so that the adjacent metal contacts contact each other.
2. Conductivity: When the metal contacts are in contact, a path is formed, and the current can flow through the metal contacts, thereby realizing the conduction of the circuit.
3. Disconnection: When the user stops applying pressure, the film returns to the initial equilibrium state, the metal contacts return to the separated state, and the current cannot pass through the metal contacts, realizing the disconnection of the circuit..
